If the establishment of this Earth was the main purpose of our lives, then Allah would have never sent any prophets or messengers to any of the nations.
Allah affirmed in the Quran the excellence of the previous nations in terms of building and their physical strength:
And they used to carve from the mountains, houses, feeling secure
Surah Al-Hijr:82
And Allah Almighty narrated their story:
As for ‘Aad, they were arrogant upon the earth without right and said, “Who is greater than us in strength?”
Surah Fussilat:15
We know this happened because Allah informed us, and He informed us so that we take heed and don’t end up destroying ourselves by indulging in this world. Are we paying attention to the Message sent to us by our Lord?
