Surah an Naas

Surah Al Naas – سورة الناس – starts off with a command of seeking refuge in Allah who is our Lord, King, and Master.

These three names and attributes are mentioned to teach us about an Adab related to Duaa where we call upon Allah using different names.

There is one evil mentioned in this chapter that we are seeking protection against and that is the whisperings of Shaitan, who tries to influence man in the hope that a believer will be taken away from the worship of Allah.

Shaitan can only so much as put the evil thoughts in a person’s heart and has not been given absolute power over anyone except for those who choose to obey him willingly. That’s why we are told to recite this Surah coupled with al Falaq lest we become forgetful of Allah and have the devil influence us.
